Hunger For God

I am finally finishing the book "Hunger for God" By John Piper. It took me so long because I could only read a little bit at a time. This book was enriched with information about fasting. I learned a lot and will share just a few pointhe touched on that I thought was impactful. -Fasting is future oriented: We must remember that the goal is for Jesus' return (Matt 24:14) -Prayer and Fasting will cause the spiritual breakthrough desired -Fasting does not create hunger, it expresses our hunger for the Lord -Notice the difference in fasting to be seen, and being seen fasting What are your thoughts?

CJ’s Book Club is a learning community for individuals who enjoy insight from Christian authors. I encourage you to share your insight regarding the posting, which will be in reference to recent book readings and some articles. The goal of this blog is to provide an online community of biblical edification through asking questions and sharing testimony about your Christian walk in response to reading a publication. The Holy Bible is the source of ultimate truth and revelation.  Reading other biblically inspired books is just tool for the journey that I find very helpful.  Most of the books I read are non-fiction, instructional, and/or research based (not so much of the novel or fictional type). I hope this is helpful and I look forward to all of your interaction.
